Mythic Fantasy Writer

Jennifer Shank-Maxwell is a mythic fantasy writer who has a skill for snappy dialogue, a passion for all things with a story, and a penchant for surprise endings.

Once upon a time, in the magical land of Winamac, Indiana, a girl-child was born, and her mother named her Jennifer. Jennifer was surrounded by local Indian lore, her Celtic heritage, a strong Catholic faith, and the influence of the Boy Scouts. It was obvious this child was special. After long forays into the woods, she came back with fantastical tales of adventures with talking trees and fairy folk. During Sunday Mass, she had deep conversations with the angels.

Jennifer knew she needed to share these stories. She wrote all during her teenage years, even a few articles for the local newspaper. Years later, the same newspaper gave her a job as a copy editor. She was thankful for the opportunity to be involved in any writing process, yet Jennifer realized she needed more guidance. Then one day, like a sign from Heaven, she discovered Full Sail University’s Online Creative Writing program.

Jennifer wasted no time and began her education in May of 2012. By the end of December, 2014, she had one story published in the 2013 Mountain Springs House Halloween Anthology, Lost Tales from the Mountain, five course director awards and was selected the Advanced Achiever for her graduating class. She discovered different ways stories can be told and plans to use many of them. One of her first projects, due out by the end of 2015, is a children’s book, Jackson Cornelius Fields Goes to School

Everyone and everything has a story.

If you listen close, you will hear it.
